Utah High School State Rodeo Championship

Writer's picture: Sue. Sue.

One of the most interesting events on our trip. There are hundreds of good looking horses in Utah and now we know why. There is a large venue 2 miles from the RV resort dedicated to rodeo and there are many more rodeo facilities around the state. We were lucky that the Utah High School state rodeo championship took place June 7 - 12. We went to the finals on June 12. Being from the east coast this was something that we never knew existed. It was amazing to see what these kids and animal athletes could do. It was quite an event with an entertaining announcer and lots of music. There are 10 events - Bareback Bronc Riding, Saddle Bronc Riding, Breakaway Roping, Steer Wrestling, Tiedown Roping, Barrel Racing, Goat Tying, Team Roping, Pole Bending, and Bull Riding.

Check out the videos below! (No animals were injured in the filming of these videos).
